Hand in the cup
You rarely see a whole arm in the cup — usually just a palm with separated fingers, a sign of offering: help that is arriving, or being asked of you. A closed fist speaks of a word held back, something not yet said aloud. Turned upward, the hand receives; turned downward, it gives. The symbol shows precisely which way your generosity is flowing.
Position changes the tone: nearer the rim speaks of what is close, nearer the bottom of what is further off; a clearer shape speaks louder than a faint one.
