Couple in the cup
Two figures facing each other, joined at the waist or the shoulder, are the classic sign of coming together: a bond growing firmer, an agreement taking shape, a partnership that stops being incidental. If white space remains between them, the distance is real and calls for a conversation. Merged silhouettes speak of a closeness you don't need to explain to anyone else.
Position changes the tone: nearer the rim speaks of what is close, nearer the bottom of what is further off; a clearer shape speaks louder than a faint one.
