Roof in the cup

Without walls beneath it, a roof in the grounds remains a shelter: someone is vouching for you, something is covering you while the rest still falls into place. A broad line speaks of a security that lasts; a thin, broken one, of a temporary fix, good enough for now. If the roof is turned upside down, protection has to be sought, not received on its own.

Position changes the tone: nearer the rim speaks of what is close, nearer the bottom of what is further off; a clearer shape speaks louder than a faint one.
