Clock in the cup
Nothing in the cup speaks of time as literally as a clock: it measures what you've already given and what's still left for you to decide. Most often it says that the moment is ripe — neither early nor late. Hands pointing up carry urgency, pointing down, patience; a small clock concerns days, a large one, a whole year.
Position changes the tone: nearer the rim speaks of what is close, nearer the bottom of what is further off; a clearer shape speaks louder than a faint one.
