Crossroads in the cup
Two lines that cross make a crossroads — a place of choice, not a place of danger. It says that more than one direction is opening before you, and that delay, by itself, is already becoming a decision. A sharp, clear angle hints at a choice that has long since ripened in you; a soft, blurred one, that you're still missing one piece of information.
Position changes the tone: nearer the rim speaks of what is close, nearer the bottom of what is further off; a clearer shape speaks louder than a faint one.
