Mountain in the cup

Tradition reads the mountain as a task: something large stands before you and asks for a climb. If the peak is clearly outlined, the goal is visible and reachable; if it fades into a smudge, the path hasn't been drawn yet. A row of mountains means a series of steps rather than one obstacle. Never a wall — always a measure of your persistence.

Position changes the tone: nearer the rim speaks of what is close, nearer the bottom of what is further off; a clearer shape speaks louder than a faint one.
