Butterfly in the cup

A butterfly is a sign of transformation — something long closed away is ready to unfold its wings. It announces ease after a hard stretch, a joy that needs no reason and no justification. High near the rim, the change is within reach; at the bottom, it is still unfolding quietly. The fragile shape is also read as a call to be gentle with yourself.

Position changes the tone: nearer the rim speaks of what is close, nearer the bottom of what is further off; a clearer shape speaks louder than a faint one.
